Wote Youth Development Project is based at Wote township, the headquarters of Makueni district registered in 2000. The organization deals with in school and out of school youth who have undertaken various development projects in the district which originally comprised of 17 divisions before it was split into four districts. The youth group was formed to address this deficiency by supporting various efforts geared towards improving the well being of the youth. We have regular membership of 100 members.
Volunteer base: The volunteers who devote their time, money and other resources run Wote Youth and Development. There are 208 volunteers; 102 girls and 106 boys who are based in Makueni district.
Youth empowerment and support services:
• Capacity building for the youth especially organized common interest groups through training
• Provide financial and technical support to the youth self help initiatives like boda boda services
• Promotion and coordination of community volunteerism and services in churches, hospitals, markets
• Counseling of youths in difficult situations through weekly therapy sessions.
