MAKA Childrens Fund is a Community Based Organization (CBO) within the district and has six administrative zones. Each zone has focus groups where the agency identifies their needs. Maka has a wide professionally managed established network within the district to the household level. It is a human development agency and emphasizes on development of children and their families in the district.
It has a development approach called ‘Bright futures’ which has three fundamental objectives:
* Broaden, deepen and bring about lasting impact in children’s lives.
* Strengthen accountability.
* To fortify sponsorship.
Vision: A society that nurtures and develops all children to realize their maximum potential.
Mission: First, endeavour to reduce child poverty by promoting sustainable socio-economic development interventions through holistic programming. Secondly, to promote growth and well being of the children and empowering the families to utilize the available resources and opportunities for sustained benefits for the children in the district.
