KYEP is located at Kangaita village (kwa Eliud) shopping centre Kariko sub location, central division, Kirinyaga district, Central Province (Kenya) and ifs main office is located there. It was established a few years a go when a number of local youth realized that there was a great need to have a forum where they would ne engaged and discuss their problems.

Objectives

a) Invest in areas that improves the welfare of the community in which the group operates

including health, education, support other small groups and protection of physical environment to ensure sustainability of the groups

b) Create awareness in the community to the quick spread of HIV and AIDS virus, STIs and other preventable diseases.

c) Conserve the environment by planning trees and educate the society on importance of the same.

d) Reduce the levels of illiteracy in the community by establishing a resource centre offering computer courses.

e) Educate the youth and the society on the dangers of drug use and abuse

f) Reduce idleness among the youth thus curbing crime among the society.


Members’ contribution

The group gets money from members through registration fee, monthly fee and organizes dramas to present in Harambee and weddings at a fee. The money goes to the groups’ account.

Mission: To be the leading youth empowerment center using Information Technology and engaging in activities that improves our Environment and living.
