The CODEF mission statement is to have an empowered grassroot Community that can influence policy on education, development and leadership
Currently CODEF has partnered with Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) to implement the score care project in the entire Baringo Constituency. Between 2005-2007 CODEF concentrated mostly in Mukutani, Marigat and Mochongoi divisions where they championed for child and women rights during the armed cattle rustling and the resulting effects which included displacements, school closures and dropouts.
CODEF has two broad aims:
· To promote community level principles and practices of good governance/democracy based on popular participation, transparency and Accountability.
· To promote basic and compulsory education in entire constituency with special emphasis on pastoral areas.
CODEF’s Aspirations:
It has a strong interest in partnership with like-minded stakeholders in carrying our initiatives and programmes that will help to empower the grassroot communities.
CODEF commitment is open and transparent and will engage all the stakeholders necessary at every stage. They endeavour to have and stick to project timeframes.
